Detour Charters

Detour Charters is run by Captain Rob Newell in Port St. Joe on a 23 foot Tidewater bay boat that carries up to six people. The site lists scalloping trips among its services, along with sightseeing tours, sandbar trips, sunset cruises and fishing charters around St. Joe Bay, Cape San Blas, Mexico Beach and Apalachicola. Because the 2026 scallop season was cancelled, the site offers a 4 hour Snorkeling Sortie over the bay grass beds for $400 for up to six, with masks and snorkels provided.
